 Summary: Assurety Consulting, a leader in the postal/parcel ecosystem, seeks highly qualified applicants for a Business Analyst position. This is a full-time position in Sterling, VA, with working opportunity 3-4 days a week. This position requires a US Government security clearance and either US Citizenship or a Green Card.

Accountant & Contracts Administrator who will also take ownership of contract management. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting, be detail-oriented, preferably using the **Unanet platform**, and have a strong understanding of contract administration.

Implements state-of-the-practice systems and technology in the Client’s environment, using leading approaches, concepts, and ideas. Researches and evaluates system designs to select appropriate technology and use resources efficiently. Evaluate and recommend COTS applications and methodologies that can be acquired to provide technology solutions. Develops transition strategies and plans to cut over legacy systems. Performs Project Management functions per Project Management Institute (PMI) standards.

Conditions of Employment (REQUIRED):

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a small or mid-sized organization.
  • Proficiency in “Unanet” accounting platform or a similar ERP system is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Prior experience in contract management or exposure to legal/contractual reviews.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-department collaboration.

Preferred Applicant Characteristics:

  • Experience in government contracts or familiarity with FAR/DFAR regulations.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA (or working towards certification).
  • Previous experience working in small or growing organizations.

General Job Duties:

  • Manage general accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, and payroll processing.
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to GAAP.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assist in budget preparation and forecasting.
  • Process invoices, expense reports, and payments through **Unanet**.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with tax filings, regulatory requirements, and audit processes.
  • Support financial audits and liaise with external auditors as needed.
  • Own the full lifecycle of contract management, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing contracts (e.g., vendor agreements, service contracts, and client agreements).
  • Maintain a contracts database and ensure all contracts are up-to-date, properly filed, and easily accessible.
  • Monitor contract renewals, expirations, and key dates, ensuring timely renewals and amendments as needed.
  • Collaborate with legal, procurement, and other departments to ensure contract terms comply with company policies and risk management practices.
  • Advise leadership on contractual risks and ensure contracts align with company goals and financial objectives.
  • Ensure proper communication of contract obligations and terms across relevant departments.
